Kissy Biewers

We currently have puppies!

Our 6 week trip out west was soooo much fun! We took our two boys (Max, who is now 14, and Bravo, who is now 12) and loaded up in our old RV and headed out. A few break-downs and 103 degree Kansas weather made for an exciting trip, but one of the most exciting events of our excursion was the birth of these 5 little guys! Ha. That’s right, as she was due to give birth while we were gone, we decided to take Kissy with us. The puppies were born near Moab. We were camped in an isolated wilderness area on about week 4 of our trip. I always spend a lot of time trying to name our puppies, and that can be quite agonizing for me. However, my husband, Dave, woke up the next morning with the great idea of naming the little guys after our favorite destination spots. I was so excited. First it was a great reminder of all the fun we had experienced and they were perfect names for little boys. Of course, you are free to name your puppy whatever you wish, but for now, we can use these names to identify these beautiful puppies.

By the way! I was shocked to get all male puppies! That is quite rare. But, our customers who have bought male puppies have all been just as thrilled as those who have purchased females. Biewers all have such great dispositions.

My experience working with Ruth was phenomenal. From the moment I inquired I was interested in a biewer terrier she offered a FaceTime immediately which was so nice given all the scams there are online.

She offered to let me view the puppies via FaceTime and explained to me all the details of her breeding business.

I am in the state of CA so she was so accommodating when in came to the logistics of getting our puppy since we were not in the same state. The moment I saw Keanu in person he was exactly the dog I had always dreamed of.

The best puppy purchase experience I have ever had from so far away too.

When I made a decision to get a Biewer Terrier I began looking for a breeder.  I found Ruth Thompson at Kissy Biewers.  I messaged her on AKC Marketplace and she immediately responded.  She sent me pictures of the cutest little boy.  She answered all of my questions and was so helpful with everything. I made my decision.  It was soon after that my little boy came home to me.  I named him Winston.  It was love at first sight.  One of the things that I thought was so sweet is that Ruth sent a blanket home with Winston that had his mother's scent on it.  Ruth did an excellent job socializing Winston.  He is a love bug and a lap dog.  I have had terriers my whole life but never this breed and I love it.  Winston is smart, playful, affectionate and the best lap dog ever.  He is loved by my entire family.  Ruth was so helpful and made everything so easy to get him.  If I decided to get another Biewer terrier I would go to Ruth.  I love her story about how she discovered this adorable breed of dog.  I could not be happier with Winston.  Working with Ruth to get Winston was a great experience.

What is a Biewer?

In 1984 a couple from Germany, named Mr. and Mrs. Biewer, had been breeding Yorkshire Terriers for quite some time. After some selective breeding their very first of a new and special type was born and that was the beginning of the Biewer Terrier breed. The breed was officially accepted in Germany in 1986 and made their way to the USA in 2003. They were just accepted into the AKC registry in 2022!

What makes a Biewer different than a Yorkie? It is said that the selective breeding mostly eliminated the hunting instinct that normally characterize Yorkies, so the dogs tend to be much quieter and not as “yappy.” The other main characteristic that distinguishes this breed from their distant cousins is the distinctive white, black and brown blend.

We have found our Biewers to be gentle, quiet and loyal dogs

And even better! The dogs are hypo-Allergenic!

Fun Fact: The original name given to the breed was Biewer Yorkshire a’ la Pom Pon. The Pom Pon tag means fluffy colorful ball lof yarn
